Opening the Box

For me, Yarchei Kallah is a new and thrilling adventure. While I attend some NCSY events for my chapter in Northern California, I rarely get the opportunity to be surrounded by a Jewish community who understands my culture and need for thought and discussion. NCSY provides me with that community — they are not only a wonderful bunch of people, but also teach me to stay true to my heritage and interpret things in my own way. The fact that a place exists where deep Jewish thought and questioning can happen for five days straight with people from around the world is truly incredible.

Yarchei Kallah is legendary for being tons of fun and life changing for so many. After only one day, that proves to be true. The main focus of our discussions surround how to question and how to better learn from not only the answers, but also the questions themselves. This week I hope to become more empowered with ways to always find truth and to the have faith in my capabilities as a young adult to help others reach their goals.
