Torah of UnityJewish Student Union (JSU) will celebrate its 15th year as a non-denominational program for local Jewish teens during the organization’s annual gala Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Jewish Community Center’s Staenberg Family Complex.

The event will mark the completion of JSU’s Torah of Unity, a project launched at last year’s gala. JSU commissioned a sofer (scribe) in Jerusalem to write a Torah specifically for youth.

“The centrality and unity of the Jewish People revolves around our Torah,” said JSU Director Rabbi Mike Rovinsky in a statement. “It is the physical Torah that is the common thread that ties all Jews together, regardless of how they may or may not identify.”
