This fall, National Board decided to respond to the horrible terrorist attacks in Israel by running a social media campaign to show NCSY’s support. The hashtag, #CommittedToIsrael, was used by many teens who took on mitzvot or other commitments for Israel. Some decided to refrain from Lashon Hara (gossip) in the merit of safety in Israel, while others committed to post about the attacks that were not being publicized by the media. Additionally, people were encouraged to change their profile picture so that it had an overlay of an Israeli flag on it, to show their support for Israel.
After the murder of Ezra Schwartz z”l, a former New England NCSYer, National Board helped lead a Tehilim Conference call. NCSYers from around the country called in to pray together in Ezra’s merit.
