FAQ:
What makes this program different from the others?
“Bright Lights, Shavuos Night” aims to empower individual members of our community to become teachers. The circumstances of closed shuls has forced us into this approach, but in truth it has long been the driving force behind NCSY programming. Each masterclass will provide inspiring content and the tools for giving it over on Shavuos night.
Who are the teachers?
In this stage of the program we are focused exclusively on the incredible array of talented educators who are associated with NCSY. This includes our National staff, Regional representatives, and Summer programs faculty. We are awed by the collection of people that volunteered to take part, and we are immensely proud that they all represent NCSY and the OU!
Why are classes limited?
We would like to ensure that these are real workshops with the opportunity to interact with the teachers. Further, we would like to spread the wealth amongst our full range of wonderful teachers. Do some window shopping and get creative with your choices!
Can we register for more than one seminar?
Sure. And it probably makes sense to in some cases. But it depends greatly on how much you will realistically be giving over on Shavuos night. We recommend that everyone starts with one, and then determine whether it makes sense to leave the focus on that class, or move on to others.
Who is the target audience?
In a word, EVERYONE! We envision every member of the household taking responsibility for Shavuos learning like no other. This is for adults and teens, men and women, all backgrounds and knowledge bases, and for active NCSYers as well as those who are not. Welcome!
What time zone are we using?
All times listed are Eastern. But it’s a great question because we have educators lined up around the globe!
