Yisroel Goldberg and Benjamin Snyder
New England Region

Tonight my friend Benjamin and I arrived at Yarchei Kallah 2015 in Stamford, CT. The night started off with an amazing opening ceremony. We then watched a skit comparing Torah to an instagram feed. The analogy goes such that we see the pictures online but we don’t always know what is going on behind the scenes for the person that posted that picture. What was going on in Noah’s mind when he built the ark? What was Moshe’s mother going through when she placed him in the Nile? We know these stories from the Torah, but we want to be able to experience what they personally were going through. This analogy was very relatable for the teens at YK. We then split up into our separate classes to have our first learning session which was an introduction on Sefer Tehilim, from our very own personal Tehillim’s that we were given out tonight by Touro College. Afterwards, we all had the privilege of hear from Rabbi Josh Rosenfeld, former lone soldier in the Israeli army about his unique experiences. Then we had free time to hang out and were able to meet other teens from all across the globe. I look forward to learning more about Tehillim and to learn how to grow more as a Jew.
