There are a few words which will be used over the course of  every Parsha , which you may be unfamiliar with. Here is a handy guide to help you follow the lessons and hock (a fancy Jewish

word for schmooze, which is another fancy Jewish word for discuss) like a ben torah:


Tzaraat-  A heavenly affliction which served as a punishment for people who slander others. The victim would find spots of an unusual color on his house, clothes, hair or skin


Metzorah– a person inflicted with tzaraat. Such a person would be ostracized from society until they could be purified


Mikvah– A pool of water in which which ritually impure people immerse in order to purify themselves
