Another area of civil law is the responsibilities of guardians. The Torah speaks about 4 types of guardians who are responsible for guarding another person’s object. The general rule is that the more benefit the guardian receives, the more responsibility the guardian has.
Towards the end of prasha, the Torah teaches us about the three major holidays on the Jewish calendar. These holidays appear a few times throughout the Torah. Here, the Torah emphasizes that each holiday arrives at a critical juncture in the agricultural cycle (which was very important to biblical Jews).
