Armed With Knowledge

Posted on March 13, 2013

AIPAC was a three-day experience that changed my outlook on Israel’s role not just the Jewish realm, but the world at large. Going into AIPAC, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I have always been “Pro-Israel,” but I did not have a significant wealth of knowledge to support my position.

AIPAC highlighted Israel’s contributions to the world in the realms of science, technology and public health. AIPAC also elucidated issues that Israel is currently facing, such as the potential for a “two-state solution” and why Iran poses such an insidious threat to Israel. Now that I am armed with a clear understanding of Israel’s vast contributions to society as well as these abstract security issues, I can advocate for Israel and successfully spread the message of the necessity of Israel’s existence for the world at large.

This experience not only solidified my love and support for Israel, but it fostered my confidence. After all, I had to muster the fortitude to articulate my beliefs in the presence of senators and congressmen. Moreover, AIPAC enabled me to interact with individuals from all different walks of life who came together for one common goal – Israel.

Ultimately, AIPAC helped me gain the knowledge, develop the confidence, and work alongside a diverse group of people for a cause I believe in.
